Purpose

To outline and define the role and responsibilities of the college’s bookstore.

Policy

The college’s bookstore is operated as a contracted auxiliary service. Staff working in the bookstore are employees of the contracting vendor. Any policies/procedures implemented by the bookstore are the decisions of the management of the contracting vendor.

The college bookstore is the distribution center for textbooks for faculty and students. It also provides office supplies, school supplies, computer software, WSCC apparel, and other supplies as may be needed by faculty, staff and students. Staff members are given a discount on many categories of purchases made in the bookstore; textbooks, computer software, and sale items are not discounted categories. Although the bookstore is located on the Morristown Campus, temporary bookstore locations are operated on an as needed basis on other campuses, normally at the first of each semester. The Bookstore maintains a website where students can find a list of books needed for any classes they may take. Students can order textbooks from this site with accepted credit cards and have them shipped to any Walters State Campus other than Morristown. The bookstore accepts a variety of forms of payment including cash, checks, and most major credit cards. It also offers charge accounts to students when approved by participating third-party sponsors such as Veteran Vocational Rehab, Families First, and others as approved. 07/12; 05/16
