Purpose
The Information Technology Advisory Committee (ITAC) serves as an advisory committee for institutional technology enterprises that provide resources, effective services, and solutions for the institution. These endeavors include, but are not limited to, information systems, software, policies, procedures, institutional technological needs, and paths to improve processes. This committee is also responsible for addressing information security concerns, as well as data standards and data governance issues.
Responsibilities of the Committee:
The ITAC members serve as a representative of a designated institutional area. As a collaborative group, members are charged with communicating information to and from their designated areas, as well as presenting area technology needs and concerns to the committee for discussion.
ITAC’s recommendations are forwarded to the VP Council for consideration and approval to determine the use and governance of institutional technology resources to support institutional effectiveness and student success.
Responsibilities of the committee:
- Discuss, develop, and recommend processes and procedures to carry out the role of the committee.
- Review, recommend, and provide feedback for related IET institutional standards, guidelines, and policies.
- Oversee institutional technology projects by reviewing, discussing, and establishing priorities.
- Discuss technology needs and opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies.
- Review, discuss, and document technology proposals.
- Coordinate reports from technical teams and work groups based on information provided by IET.
