Purpose

To outline procedures for class interruption when an emergency arises.


Policy

Teaching faculty should not allow interruptions of classes unless an emergency exists. When emergencies arise, the vice president for Academic Affairs should be contacted and appropriate action will be taken, such as notifying the academic dean/faculty member/student or other appropriate person(s).

Salespeople and other vendors who are checked in with campus police and are properly identified are allowed on campus to visit faculty offices but not to interrupt classes. No salesperson may interrupt a class at any time.
