Purpose

Library orientation presentations are available upon request.

Policy

Bibliographic instructional sessions are offered at all Walters campuses, centers, and other designated teaching sites. Additionally, the Librarians can create bibliographic instruction materials for use in online education. The Library requests that instructors schedule sessions by calling or sending an email, providing a week’s notice when possible. Advance notice allows for preparation time and coordination of space and instructional activities. In order to make instruction more relevant to the course, faculty members are encouraged to provide information about the nature of the assignment, the desired learning outcomes, the availability of technology in the classroom, and approximate class size. Sessions can vary in length according to the demands of the assignment, students’ information needs, and the instructor’s course.
