Policy

Walters State’s Counseling and Testing Center is a place where students find encouragement and support. The center is staffed by professionally trained counselors who provide services for a wide range of educational, vocational, and personal issues. Services available include career counseling, job placement information, services for adult students, e-Campus liaison, fresh start, multicultural counseling, personal, and academic counseling. Testing services include ACT and other assessment testing, College-Level Examination (CLEP), Praxis, GRE, MAPP Exit Exam, Hesi A2, Pearson Vue, TN eCampus, WSCC online exams, general high school equivalency credential and other testing services.

If Counseling and Testing Center professionals determine that a student requires services beyond the scope of the Center, an appropriate referral will be made. Faculty and staff may refer to bring students to the Center (SSB U 141) as any need arises. If a faculty or staff member discovers that a student presents a threat to any member of the faculty or staff, to other students, or to themselves, they must share this information with their immediate supervisor and/or a Counseling and Testing Center professional.
