Purpose
To establish procedures for the delegation of presidential duties.
Policy
During times when the president will be away from the college during a planned absence of three consecutive days or more, the president shall appoint a vice president(s) to fulfill the presidential duties during the specified
period.
In the event of an extended, unplanned absence of the president of the college or if the president is unable to fulfill the duties of the President’s Office for any reason, delegation of presidential duties shall pass to personnel reporting directly to the president in a specific order.
If the first person in the line of duty is unavailable, delegation shall pass to the next person on the list.
The executive director to the President shall have signatory authority for the president in consultation with the person who is performing the duties of the President’s Office at any given time.
As of the effective date of this policy, the order in which presidential duties will be assumed, if necessary, is as follows:
- Vice President for Student Services
- Vice President for Business & Finance
- Vice President for Academic Affairs
- Vice President for Strategic Communications & Effectiveness
The order may change with a change in the incumbent of any position. The list shall be updated upon any change in personnel. 9/06; 10/13; 1/15; 05/16; 02/17; 10/19
