Purpose
The Admissions and Academic Re-Admissions Committee has the responsibility for: reviewing and revising, as necessary, all admissions policies and guidelines as they apply to various groups of applicants, including international students; hearing residency classification appeals; reviewing and establishing guidelines and policies for the readmission of students who are placed on academic probation/dismissal; and serving as an appeals body for academically dismissed students. This committee will also review and make recommendations relative to other matters pertaining to the admissions process as needs are identified. In conjunction with the work of this committee, the vice president for Student Services will: ensure that committee actions are compliant with Tennessee Board of Regents enrollment audit standards, monitor the enforcement of committee actions, and address questions/concerns of students relative to the enrollment restrictions imposed by the committee.
Administrative functions and follow-up activities associated with the work of this committee shall be the responsibility of the Executive Director of Senators Central. The chair of the committee will be named by the president.
Admissions and Academic Re-Admissions Committee shall meet each semester, and once during the summer.
