FIRE 1110 - Principles of Emergency Services

This course provides a general synopsis to the three public safety professions in the United States; the fire service, emergency medical services (EMS), and law enforcement. Students will be given an overview of career opportunities, culture and history of emergency services, basic analysis of fire loss, crime, and epidemiology, the organization and function of public and private emergency service provision, state and local government relationships with public safety agencies, as well as laws and regulations affecting public safety.
