Discusses the history and organization of the respiratory care profession; ethical and legal dimensions of respiratory care, quality management and measurement techniques; the use and measurement of respiratory care protocols; the principles, operation and maintenance of compressed gas sources, gas administration devices, oxygen therapy; humidity and aerosol therapy; microbiology of respiratory care in cleaning and sterilization; physical assessment and patient history taking.
