ETBM 2800/2801 - Introduction to Biomedical Instrumentation w/lab3 credit(s)
A first course in biomedical instrumentation. Content includes hospital equipment safety, biopotentials, electrodes and transducers, the principles of electrocardiograms, electromyograms, electro-oculograms, electroencephalograms, oscillometric blood pressure measurement, photoplethysmograms, respiratory ventilation detection, pulse metering, and body impedence detection. Other topics include information flow, medical indications and complications, and the patient-machine interface. Laboratory experiments on medical circuits will be studies or performed. S. (NIT) 2 hours lecture/2 hours laboratory
