Culinary Arts

The Culinary Arts technical certificate is designed to provide fundamental skills in food preparation, cooking and baking. Employment is broadly available for people with creativity, imagination and the willingness to work. The coursework completed for the technical certificate will apply to the Associate of Applied Science degree in Culinary Arts.

This program is designed for the student who does not intend to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program.

The following Recommended Full-Time Schedule is not a substitute for academic advising. You must meet with an academic advisor each semester to be cleared for registration. Consult with your advisor about scheduling and degree requirements. Also, see the current undergraduate catalog (catalog.ws.edu) for a complete list of requirements and electives. Factors that affect your progression include your choices regarding course delivery method, and the days and times selected to take classes.

Note

Students are required to participate in an internal internship of 50 clock hours during fall and spring semesters.  Students are also required to take CULA 2180 - Culinary Internship working in their chosen culinary option for a minimum of 350 clock hours. These requirements provide the student with a total of 450 clock hours of supervised internship activities.
