Emergency Medical Services - Advanced Emergency Medical Technician

The Advanced Emergency Medical Technician concentration provides a student with the competencies necessary to assume the role of a leader in emergency medical services or public safety. Upon completion of this concentration, the graduate possesses the skills and abilities to function in the workforce as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.

This program is designed for the student who does not intend to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program.

Degree: Associate of Applied Science

Factors that affect your progression include required Learning Support courses, your choices regarding campus location, course delivery method, and the days and times selected to take classes.

1General Education electives in each category must be chosen from approved courses listed in the General Education Program .

Learning Support courses must be taken every semester until completed.

 

Concentration Description:

The Advanced EMT concentration provides a student with the competencies necessary to assume the role of a leader in emergency medical services or public safety. Upon completion of this concentration, the graduate possesses the skills and abilities to function in the workforce as an Advanced Emergency Medical Technician.

PREREQUISITES:

  1. Be admitted to the college.
  2. Meet EMT and AEMT admissions requirements.
  3. Meet other admission requirements as stipulated in the Rules of the Tennessee Department of Health, Bureau of Health Licensure and Regulation, Office of Emergency Medical Services.
