Purpose

To outline procedures for faculty members who enter active campaign work in a potential race as candidate or in support of candidate.

Policy

Faculty members are not prohibited from active campaign work in a political race as candidate or in support of a candidate. However, before making political commitments of this nature, a faculty member must have discussed the situation and implications with the president and the vice president for Academic Affairs. Any political activity must be reflective of a faculty member’s own private beliefs and are not representative of the institution. No political activity should involve the college or its staff by implication or otherwise.
