Purpose

The purpose of the Board of Advisors for the Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center is to support and work with WSCC staff and faculty in stimulating and promoting a greater awareness and involvement among the general public throughout upper East Tennessee regarding the Expo Center.  The members of the Board assist the college administration in determining the needs of the agribusiness community in East Tennessee relative to the programs and services to be provided and when needed offer recommendations relative to the planning and implementation of the physical facilities associated with the Expo Center.

Committee shall meet as needed.

Membership

Membership on the Advisory Board is by invitation from the President and is comprised of approximately 30 individuals who are considered to be leading figures in livestock production, farming organizations, agribusiness, and economic and community development throughout the 15 county region of upper East Tennessee. Selected Walters State staff will participate on the advisory board with the President or a designee serving as Chairman.
