11:35:00 Smoky Mountains Area WIOA Consortium of Local Elected Officials

Purpose

The Consortium of Local Elected Officials oversees the Smoky Mountains Area WIOA Board.  Major responsibilities of the consortium include serving as the grant recipient, appointing private sector members of the Smoky Mountains Area WIOA Board and selection of the area’s administrative entity.

Smoky Mountains Area WIOA Consortium of Local Elected Officials meets quarterly.

Membership

The membership of the consortium consists of the chief elected officials (county mayors) in each of the counties which comprise the local area.   Each of these elected officials serves as a consortium member during the term for which each was elected to public office.  The consortium selects a chair and vice chair.
