Purpose

The Smoky Mountains Area WIOA Workforce Board provides policy guidance for, and exercise oversight of activities under the Workforce Investment Act, in the 10-county Smoky Mountains Area WIOA in partnership with the Consortium of Local Elected Officials.

Smoky Mountains Area WIOA Workforce Board meets quarterly.

Membership

The membership of this board consists of representatives of the private sector, who are a majority of the board; and representatives of educational agencies, organized labor, rehabilitation agencies, community-based organizations, economic development agencies, the public employment service, and others as directed in the Workforce Investment Act and regulations, as well as other applicable regulations and policies.
