The study of the Earth’s physical and biological changes occurring during Earth’s 4.5-billion-year history, as interpreted from the rock and fossil record. Topics include an introduction to fossils, geologic, biologic, and radiometric dating principles, ancient environments, stratigraphy, and a review of major geological events of Earth’s past.
