The department of Engineering Technology prepares students to assume highly skilled technical and supervisory positions in business and industry. The program contains two Associate of Applied Science degree programs: Electrical Engineering Technology and Engineering Systems Technology. Contained in these two degree programs are specializations in Automation, Electromechanical, Industry 4.0, Mechatronics, Architectural Design, Computer-Aided Design, Mechanical Design, and Operations Management. Each of these specializations has a common core of coursework designed to provide a fundamental background in general education, and specific coursework in Engineering Technology. There is also an Associate of Science degree program in Engineering Technology designed for transfer to select four-year colleges and universities with Engineering Technology programs. Students in the AAS programs are required to take a minimum of 12 semester hours of technical coursework at Walters State Community College.
