The English discipline teaches students to think critically, write effectively and develop sensibilities to the literary tradition of the Western World through offerings in composition and literature. The discipline emphasizes language skills and the literary arts.

This program is designed for the student who does intend to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program.

3 This A.A. degree requires proficiency in a foreign language equivalent to 6 hours of intermediate college-level work which can be applied toward B.A. degree requirements at a senior institution. Students must be proficient at the intermediate level to enroll in any foreign language 2010 class.

4Students should consult a faculty advisor to determine appropriate course selections transferable to specific institutions.

Learning Support courses must be taken every semester until completed.
